A Mayfair based Private Wealth client is seeking a highly experienced middle office / operations manager. This is a rare opportunity to join a wealth manager that running assets across a wide range of geographies and strategies, working within a small team offering broad exposure across the full range of financial functions.

Accountancy qualifications / mindset would be advantageous and qualifications such as CISI Operations or other relevant professional qualifications would be considered highly favourably

  • Responsibilities will include:
    • Reconciliations: Daily portfolio reconciliations of transactions between several custodians and portfolio management systems
    • Resolution any cash, stock, or performance differences
    • Process corporate actions, dividends, and income payments
    • Calculate and collect management and performance fees
    • Process payments and transfers.
    • Place fund subscriptions and redemptions with custodian banks or fund administrators
    • Give foreign exchange trade instructions to custodian banks.
    • Investigate and resolve any trading errors.
    • Daily liaison with a range of Swiss private banks and custodians
    • Ensure accurate custodian trade execution.
  • Trading:
    • Trade execution including FX, forwards, funds, and private equity
    • Implementation and execution of complex financial transactions and structures
    • Extensive knowledge of a wide range of asset classes including loans and private debt interest flows
    • Private equity including accounting of commitments and distributions
  • Client reporting:
    • Month end client reporting
    • Managing daily client transactions and inquiries accurately, within established deadlines, and in accordance with compliance trade procedures
    • Preparing, coordinating, and delivering bespoke client reports using a range of systems and tools
    • Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc client valuation
    • Supporting the firm’s Client Director in a range of client reporting and trade execution duties
  • Experience & Qualifications
    • Experience working in private wealth management or similar for an FCA or equivalent regulated private wealth asset manager, family office, private bank, or similar financial institution
    • Good academic qualifications, highly numerate with mathematical approach to problem solving
    • Ideally systems experience in one of the following: Addepar, Expersoft, AM One
    • Management of junior operations analyst
    • Project management skills including experience in systems migration projects
    • Ability to produce bespoke non-generic private client reports using a variety of systems
    • Extensive understanding of middle and back office with the ability to reconcile complex private client accounts across several systems
    • Thorough investment knowledge of all types of financial instruments including funds, private equity, hedge funds and F/X
    • Understanding onshore and offshore banking relationships that are used by private wealth clients
    • Practical, collaborative and possess a 'can-do' approach with an ability to drive change
    • Effective self-management and time management skills including the ability to quickly adapt
    • Dynamic, detailed orientated with a propensity to action to see the job through to completion.
    • Adaptable and problem-solving mentality, with confidence to ask questions and seek solutions
