Our client is an investment manager for UHNW family wealth. They invest across all asset classes – liquid, illiquid, private assets with allocations to ETFs, futures for liquidity & risk control, managed semi-liquid and illiquid assets (PE, VC, RE, NR) and directly into private asset opportunities.

They require an Operations Manager to perform various aspects of operations and other ad hoc responsibilities. The candidate would be expected to be involved with:

  • Coordinating outsourced service providers for both the management company and investment vehicles:
    • IT, admin, compliance
    • Partnering with finance function to coordinate with tax and audit
  • Coordinating with outside investment partners on operational topics such as:
    • Anti money laundering and know-your-client exercises.
    • Data requests, FATCA/CRS
  • Maintenance of firm operational/filing documents:
    • ADV, DDQ, Employee Handbook, Policies & Procedures
    • Operations and Compliance manuals
  • Setup/maintenance of bank/brokerage accounts
  • Coordinating with investment team on creation and maintenance of internal and external reporting
  • Attending investment committee meetings, and preparing subscription documents for underlying investments upon approval
  • Coordinating with admins on new investor subscription/redemption process
  • Reviewing admin work product
    • Reporting
    • NAVs & allocations
    • Financial statements
  • Coordinating investment cash flow items
    • Payment/Receipt of capital calls & distributions
    • Closing/funding/redemption of open-ended investments
  • Assisting in preparing information for regulatory reports and regulatory filings
  • Reviewing client reporting (cap statements, quarterly letters) prior to their release
  • All topics related to firm real estate.

Applicants must have:

  • Over 5 years of professional experience preferably in a similar role
  • Experience working in another LP (single/multifamily office, FoF, endowment, etc), is highly preferred, or with an investment manager
  • Exceptional dedication to and attention to detail
  • An enthusiastic and hands-on approach
  • An inquisitive and proactive nature
  • Strong grasp of Excel and quantitative abilities
  • Well-organized and able to multi-task and keep track of various deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • The ability to develop constructive relationships with peers and
  • Be entrepreneurial and a self-starter, work autonomously within a small team, particularly with asynchronous co-workers.

Given the nature of the business, a high degree of sensitivity to client confidentiality is required.

The job is full time but the firm is amenable to one day per week of work-from-home, provided it is under the same work standards as work at the office. The firm has an independent entrepreneurial culture and expects people to be self-motivated.

The person could have a background in the operations function of a PE firm, Hedge Fund or wealth management firm, and have a real appetite to dig into the broader remit of the role.  Alternatively, they could come from a professional services firm.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the duties and demands of the role and the experience of the candidate but likely to be in the range of £70,000 to £80,000.
