An exclusive opportunity has arisen for a CFO to join a sophisticated Single-Family Office in Casablanca, Morocco, with regular travel to Dubai. The position will report to the FO’s MD / CIO.

The Family Office’s source of wealth stems from a portfolio of successful operating businesses diversified across different industries from Financial Services, BPO/ CRM to Education and Agriculture. The Family Office already has a team of highly competent family officers and investment specialists and runs a diversified portfolio consisting of multiple asset classes.

Leadership Role

Strategy, foresight & evolution of the family office:

  1. Be a key member of the FO’s leadership team, reporting to the MD / CIO of the FO.
  2. Member of the Investment Committee.
  3. Coordination of FO foresight programme, liaising with the management of the Family Office.
  4. Support for periodical reviews of regulatory aspects of the forward-looking scenarios (BEPS, legal, directives, international agreements).

Wealth structuring and PWM entities:

  1. Definition and updating of structuring objectives.
  2. Definition of the mapping of jurisdictions and points of jurisdictional contact.
  3. Management and optimisation of external resources adapted to a multi-jurisdictional family office: law firms, fiduciaries, accountants, and administrators.

Finance & Control

Accounting & Reporting

  1. Presentation of internal financial reports.
  2. Bookkeeping and budget monitoring.
  3. Preparation of the annual budget of the FO. Including full Asset Management costs.
  4. Analysis, monitoring, and correction of deviations (middle office).
  5. International benchmarking of family office costs.
  6. Preparation of financial statements and interfaces with portfolio statements.
  7. Consolidation and archiving of legal documents.

Audit and management control:

  1. Retention, archiving and centralisation of supporting documents (supplier contracts, invoices).
  2. Appointment, and supervision of independent auditors.

Taxation:

  1. Management of tax returns.
  2. Tax optimisation and compliance of wealth structures.

Regulatory compliance:

  1. Continuous update of KYC packs.
  2. Tracking the versioning of KYC packs.
  3. Compliance with legal and financial regulations in force (e.g., management and follow-up of declarations).
  4. Monitoring regulatory changes and prospective developments, particularly with regard to BEPS.
  5. Definition of the Articles and “statutes” by jurisdiction and monitoring of the respective scopes and activities of PWM entities.

Banking

Banking Relationships and Financing:

  1. Relations with financial institutions, liaising with Asset Management.
  2. Negotiation of terms & conditions.
  3. Management of loan agreements.
  4. Fee negotiations and cost analysis in conjunction with Asset Management.

Treasury:

  1. Payment-management and monitoring.
  2. Definition of a cash flow plan.
  3. Liquidity Management (payments, cash available, deposits, MMF).

Family Office

Unlisted assets:

  1. Management of rented real estate assets.
  2. Financial and technical management of the FO’s real estate construction projects.
  3. Management of Private Equity investments (excluding business side): funds and direct.
  4. Implementation art collections management processes: documentation, evaluations, storage, insurance, IT system.

Family Services:

  1. Risks & Insurance Management.
  2. Management of the Family's bank cards and bank statements.
  3. Implementation of family services reporting.

Qualifications:

  • An applicant will have to show a steady career progression towards a similar position and must be in a similar role at present.
  • The successful candidate will have a financial qualification and preferably a STEP certification.
  • The successful candidate will have extensive experience in investments within the financial services industry, preferably with experience in a family office or dealing with UHNW individuals.

The role will be based out of Casablanca, Morocco with regular travel to Dubai (happy to support relocation).
