Our client is a Family Office with a substantial global operating business based in Dubai. It is a fairly new structure as the family is trying to create a separate structure and deploy more of their personal assets to generate a healthy risk adjusted return.
The family has a small team to look after the Family assets from the Operating Business and their own network. Time has been invested into sorting out governance and separating the Family Office from the Operating Business. They have a Trust Structure in place and are in the process of also setting up a Foundation for Charitable purposes.
Some of the main priorities of the Family Office beyond investments are to build a legal capability, succession planning, governance and further custodian relationships. With a goal to increase control of their investments they are now creating an internal team to manage the portfolios. Though most of this will be via fund managers.
As an analyst you must possess all the required valuation and modelling skills to understand and analyse both private and listed securities and have an exposure to portfolio management ideally incorporating multiple asset classes. They have a 5-year plan to deploy further capital into a diversified investment strategy.
They are now constantly being pitched Funds, investment opportunities and hence need to build the bandwidth to cover this. The ideal candidate must have:
- Experience across Multi Asset Classes – including Alternatives, PE, RE, Equity (EM & Developed) and Fixed income.
- Experience of due diligence and analysing Funds and Managers.
- An ability to professionalise the current decision making process with the ability to make proposals to the Investment Committee.
- Experience analysing smaller portfolios with single stocks and bonds.
The Ideal candidate must have either Family Office or sell side experience as an investment advisor. You must be comfortable in dealing with fund managers and understand the right kind of deals based on the IPS. You must have great communication skills to be able to logically present your findings to the family members and the IC. The right candidate can easily grow into a Portfolio manager in a growing team with a lot of potential.
For the right candidate, the Family Office are willing to cover the costs of a relocation to Dubai.
Salary: 25,000-30,000 AED per month
