We are looking to recruit an Investment Manager for a large single family office based in London. The successful applicant will report to the Chief Investment Officer.

The family office is involved in a variety of investment activities, from management of bond and public equity portfolios to private equity funds, direct investments, other alternative investments and property.

This is an exceptionally stable Family Office where staff are well looked after with a view to keeping people for the long term, so “fit” is as important as technical skill set and experience. A more junior hire may be considered if it is felt that they will adequately support the existing team, whilst growing into the role. At the same time a “fully finished” candidate will be equally well considered if the fit to the team is right.

Skill Set/ Duties

  • Management of part of the public equity portfolio which is split by sector and geography but will likely include Japan, Technology, Industrials, Media and Telecom, Logistics and Financials.
  • Provide quarterly commentary on the public equity markets by sector and geography and make recommendations.
  • Oversee quarterly valuations.
  • Review, analyse and present prospective PE funds, particularly Tech and VC.
  • Prepare the weekly Equity Report on the consolidated portfolio movement for the week and market comments.
  • Prepare weekly IPO report with recommendations on strategy.
  • Liaise with, and direct, segregated account managers

Initial focus will be on Public Equity management experience with a view to taking responsibility for a significant part of the total portfolio.

The role will develop further to cover Segregated Account Managers, being responsible for the relationships with third parties, oversight, etc. and then move forward to participate in running the various Private Equity interests, both existing and under consideration.
