A global single-family office located in Lexington, KY is seeking an Investment Analyst. This position will support and report to the Senior Investment Manager and contribute to a small and dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of investing across all major asset classes and geographies, as well as capital structure. There is not a high volume of trading and the expectations are for the highest level of accuracy, ensuring reporting is kept up to date and accurately reflects the positions held in the portfolio. This position will best suit someone who enjoys responsibilities including, but not limited to, monitoring, reporting, and maintenance of varying types of investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary resource for portfolio reporting
  • Maintain, publish, and distribute reporting as needed
  • Calculate investment risk and return analysis, with an ability to quantify and measure risk
  • Determine investment return, including IRR and NAV analysis
  • Support third party manager and investment due diligence; maintain record of investment pitches, manager meetings, etc.
  • Process paperwork for trades and related activity
  • Assist Investment Administrator with investment resolutions
  • Assist Investment Administrator with document retention and management
  • Monitor all banking and trading accounts for inaccuracies
  • Perform ad hoc industry and company research as requested
  • Maintain knowledge of assets including performance, values and risks
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO, Senior Investment Manager or Company Chairman/Investment Advisor
  • Respond to requests by the Principal/Chairman in a timely manner
  • Perform job duties in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations

Job requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years professional investment experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Economics, Finance, Accounting, or other business-related field preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • CFA/MBA preferred but not required
  • Bloomberg experience preferred
  • Experience with SQL, Python, VBA, or other programming languages strongly preferred
  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Superior analytical and modeling skills in addition to relentless intellectual curiosity
  • Highly organized with strong ability to multi-task and execute in a timely manner in a demanding environment
  • Experience with a rigorous investment process, ability to evaluate and offer improvements to the existing investment process preferred
  • Client-first attitude, professional demeanor, high level of personal integrity and an understanding of fiduciary responsibility

Salary: Up to $100k base salary. Candidates with expectations outside of this budget will be considered.
