A growing Multi Family Office is looking for a dynamic and driven Financial Controller to join their small and close-knit team. This will be the most senior finance professional in-house managing a team of 3 people. This office manages and oversees investment and assets of UHNWI clients who are international with sophisticated investments across a broad range of asset classes.
As a member of a small team, strong interpersonal skills are essential as well as experience working in a fast paced and deadline driven environment. They are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, can multitask and solve problems.
You will be required to liaise with external advisors and clients and be able to communicate confidently. You should be comfortable working across a broad range of tasks and have experience working across a wide range of jurisdictions globally.
Responsibilities:
- To oversee all holding companies and SPV company accounts, making sure they are up to date including review of all balance sheet reconciliations, i.e., intercompany, loans, fixed assets, depreciation, investment portfolios.
- Manage direct reports of the Finance Manager and Management Accountant and others as the team expands.
- Oversee P&L for various clients' assets, whilst communicating with international third parties who assist with these, i.e., cash funding, reviewing supplier agreements, etc.
- To review and aid in the preparation and submission of year end accounts to Companies House/HMRC or liaise with tax accountants on certain entities for year-end accounts submission.
- Be hands on with some transactional postings to help with the finance workload, as required.
- Ad hoc duties delegated by the Principal.
- Oversee movements of investment portfolios and cash funding for clients and invested-in entities.
- Working with the Principal on strategy and budgets.
- Working with Directors of the various held businesses in all jurisdictions.
- Have oversight of asset disposal which might include businesses or properties.
Qualifications & Attributes:
- Deep and demonstrable senior level experience in the finance function in relevant businesses, ideally single family / multi-family office or business offering services to this group
- Strong academic credentials and accounting qualification
- Entrepreneurial mindset and excited about working in a growth environment
- Outstanding analytical, planning and organisational skills
- An innate ability to multi-task
- A self-starter who can get things done and can adapt depending on priorities
Remuneration will be commensurate with the duties and demands of the role and the experience of the candidate.
