A Single Family Office in Monaco/London is looking to hire a Deputy Chief Investment Officer to research and recommend investments, funds and external managers as agreed by the Trustees and CEO/CIO. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing portfolios and as an allocator, substantially to alternatives including Hedge Funds, PE and VC funds, but also with deep knowledge and experience with traditional equity, derivative, currency, and fixed income trading is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing agreed Investment Committee decisions /Trustee instructions
  • Implementing asset allocation strategy as agreed with the trustees
  • Continuously monitors the portfolio with different simulations to assess underlying risk and to ensure it lies within the risk and returns parameters and advising the CIO
  • Managing relationships with external investment advisers/ managers and periodically reviewing their performance against benchmarks
  • Management of reviews of external hedge fund managers and liaising with banking partners in conjunction with the CEO/CIO.
  • Focusing on analysing third party funds and managers/advisers across a range of asset classes and advising on appropriate investment allocations
  • Analysing and monitoring global macro/market developments
  • Supervising internal reports analysing holdings, performance and risk metrics for individual and consolidated portfolios as appropriate
  • Managing liquidity and loan arrangements for the trusts as delegated/instructed by the beneficiaries.
  • Monitoring and projecting cash drawdowns and distributions for private equity and other investments and in conjunction with the CEO/CIO ensuring appropriate funding and liquidity levels are maintained
  • Work closely with the CEO/CIO in making recommendations on the overall asset allocation, risk, leverage of Trust/client portfolios

Qualifications:

The applicant will show a steady career progression towards a similar position and must be in a similar role at present. The successful candidate:

  • will have appropriate financial qualifications
  • must have experience in managing portfolios and as an allocator and portfolio manager, substantially to alternatives, for at least 15 years
  • will have extensive experience in investments within the financial services industry, preferably with some experience in a family office or multi-family office
  • will have the flexibility to undertake a variety of duties and additional responsibilities as and when necessary
