Our client has founded several multi-billion-dollar corporations, including a few publicly traded companies. The firm was initially formed to make substantial equity investments in companies and now oversees various investment and family office activities for the Principal and his family.

They are looking for a highly intelligent and astute Financial Controller who can also carry out financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

 As the Controller and Financial Planning & Analysis, you’ll perform various financial and administrative duties to lead and optimize the firm’s finance and accounting functions.

Specifically, you will:

  • Prepare weekly, monthly and year-end financial reports and financial statements, and proactively look for opportunities to optimize the current reporting structure.
  • Analyze and reconcile income and expense data to make sure the financial reports are accurate.
  • Drive and coordinate the budget, forecast and other key financial processes.
  • Participate in or lead projects, including financial modeling, ad-hoc analysis, and the delivery of improved solutions for reporting.
  • Perform all bookkeeping activities, including booking journal entries, account reconciliations, etc., for individuals, trusts, investment partnerships and other entities.
  • Manage liquidity needs and monitor all bank accounts, as well as assist in transferring funds between accounts and ensuring sufficient capital is available for personal and investment use.
  • Process bills and ensure accuracy and completeness of payments.
  • Lead and manage all payroll-related activities, including processing the bi-weekly payroll for employees.
  • Assist outside tax advisors in preparing tax estimates and tax-related documents.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc projects.

Key Requirements:

A successful candidate is self-starting, motivated and efficient, with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Specifically, you will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
  • CPA qualification preferable.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An outstanding attitude and work ethic.
  • The ability to anticipate work, multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • A commitment to the highest ethical standards.
