We are looking to recruit an Assistant Investment Manager for a large single family office based in London. The successful applicant will report to the Investment Managers and Chief Investment Officer.
The family office is involved in a variety of investment activities, from management of bond and public equity portfolios to private equity funds, direct investments, other alternative investments and property. The successful candidate will have a financial background and will likely be a recently qualified accountant or will have a suitable investment qualification. Work experience in an investment company is preferred but not essential.
The Assistant Investment Manager role is to undertake the ongoing review of the private equity portfolio and generally assist existing investment managers in reviewing, managing and administration of funds and co-investments.
The successful candidate will likely have come from a Finance background with relevant qualifications and an interest to move into the investment space, or will have a relevant investment qualification.
The Assistant Investment Manager will be expected to perform the following tasks:
- Assist in the management, analysis and reporting of private equity investments, including investment memos for proposed investments, on-going management and analysis of existing investments and accounting and reporting on the private equity portfolio.
- Assist in the review, monitoring and reporting on prospective investments.
- Produce weekly and monthly reporting.
- Assist in the production of cash flow forecasts.
- Attend and prepare reports of investment meetings reviewing existing and proposed investments,
- There will be some international travel from time to time.
The Successful Candidate:
- Will either be currently working in a junior investment position and looking to move to the next stage of investment management or currently working in the financial industry and looking to move into a privately managed investment fund.
- A financial qualification is preferred (ACA, CFA, etc.).
- Proficient in Excel modelling.
- Competent at summarising and presenting financial reports and will be able to organise and monitor investment projects.
- Willing to work in a flexible and opportunistic family office environment.
