Last year you may have received a greetings card, wishing all of you a very happy season of festivities and a wonderful year ahead full of joy, laughter, and success.

We could not have possibly imagined what the next few months would bring us. Sorrow and loss, economic downturn and uncertainty and question marks around what the future of the world would look like post COVID-19.

While the last 12 months served as a powerful reminder of the fragility of life, the closeness of family and the importance of mental health, it also enabled us to be joyful, to laugh and to be successful – even if it wasn’t quite what we had in mind.

That is why this Christmas, while reflecting on an undeniably hard year for everyone living through it, we think it is vital to use this opportunity to remember the silver linings of COVID-19 and to give generously if we can.

We want to remember the time we were able to spend with our family, the skills we picked up along the way and the advancements in science and technology we would have never thought possible.

We found opportunities in every downfall, shared insights, and information to whomever might need it and extended both an olive branch and a helping hand to anyone in need.

We digitalised as an industry; opening our eyes and finally, our doors, to the endless possibilities of technology, welcomed the prospect of remote working making life easier for some and less expensive for others and developed a level of compassion for people across the world, all living through the same shared experience.

209 UHNW Individuals donated a total of $7.2BN to the pandemic in financial donations and manufactured equipment and we have seen a new generation of innovative leaders already repairing the damage through emerging technology – led by the Single Family Office in Munich backing BioNTech to vaccinate the world against the virus.

2020 has been a whirlwind of a year but we hope to use our experiences within the year of Covid-19 as a foundation for 2021, the year we all reclaim life as we once knew it with an added layer of humility, compassion, and kindness.

This festive period, instead of cards, chocolates, or a staff party, we are redirecting our usual Christmas budget to local charities surrounding our London and New York Offices. We will keep you updated on the impact our donation has made across the UK and USA in the New Year but we hope, however small, we can make an impact this Christmas.

On behalf of the whole Agreus Team, we wish all of you a wonderful time of festivities and a very happy new year.
