London based Family Office is seeking a Head of Office to manage the financial affairs of two Founders, and their related UK, US and Caribbean entities. Reporting directly to the Founders, the HOO will provide operational and financial support to the Founders across a broad range of responsibilities.
The HOO will oversee the day-to-day operations of the family office and will take responsibility for the relationships with all external advisors and service providers. The HOO will possess strong leadership and communication skills, a strong work ethic with a “roll up your sleeves” style, coupled with high emotional intelligence and integrity.
This role will suit someone who is energetic and responsive to the broad and ever-changing duties of this challenging yet rewarding role.
The family office is based in central London. One Founder is based in London and the other in the US (East Coast). The role is fulltime London office based, with limited travel requirements.
Profile of the successful candidate:
- Must have experience working with or within a family office.
- An accounting background (ACA/ACCA).
- Confidential and professional nature
- Proactive, hard-working, jack-of-all-trades, able to wear numerous hats simultaneously
- Experience of managing and hiring teams
- High degree of meticulousness and commerciality
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include but are not limited to:
- Working with the Founders on strategy and budget, keeping the Founders abreast of their financial position and cashflow needs.
- Be the main contact with banks, lawyers, tax advisers, accountants, fund administrators, trustees etc.
- Liaising with investment managers, investment advisers and monitoring the performance of passive investments.
- Liaising with the management teams of active/operational investments and monitoring the performance of those investments
- Managing a team of 2-3 accountants in the London Office. The team is responsible for:
- Financial management & reporting;
- Tax compliance and reporting;
- Treasury – payment and cash management;
- Managing payments and the admin-side of the family office
- Company secretary requirements
- IT administration
- Directly managing the operations of a home in the UK, with a small team of domestic staff.
- Overseeing the operations of homes in the US, France and the Caribbean.
