A Singapore-based Single-Family Office and investment holding company is looking to hire an Assistant Investment Accountant to join their lean and high-performing team. The successful applicant will report directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and play a key role in supporting the investment function through financial oversight, data integrity, and portfolio reporting.
This role sits at the intersection of accounting, portfolio operations, and investment analytics. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate investment records, supporting valuation processes, and ensuring the integrity of reporting across multiple asset classes.
While technical capability is important, personal attributes such as attention to detail, reliability, and discretion are equally critical within a family office environment.
Responsibilities:
Valuation & Modelling
- Maintain and update investment valuation and forecasting models across various asset classes.
- Support the investment team with financial analysis, scenario modelling, and routine quantitative work.
Data & Portfolio Management
- Oversee the daily maintenance and accuracy of the internal portfolio management system.
- Manage and validate investment data, ensuring consistency, completeness, and accessibility.
- Drive standardisation of data collection and reporting processes across all investment holdings.
Reconciliations & Operations
- Perform reconciliations of external statements from custodians, banks, and fund managers against internal records and models.
- Liaise with external service providers to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Support monitoring of compliance with internal investment mandates and governance frameworks.
Reporting & Committee Support
- Assist in preparing investment committee materials, presentations, and supporting analysis.
- Produce regular investment performance and risk reports for the Principal and senior management.
- Track execution of investment decisions and maintain accurate records of portfolio activity.
- Provide ad hoc analytical and operational support across a range of investment and portfolio-related projects.
Professional Background:
- Will have a solid foundation in accounting principles, financial reporting, and investment terminology.
- Will demonstrate strong proficiency in Excel, with exposure to financial modelling and data analysis.
- Will have experience working with financial data, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
- Will be comfortable handling large datasets with a high degree of accuracy and control.
- Will be detail-oriented, organised, and capable of maintaining robust data integrity.
- Ideally will have exposure to a family office, investment firm, fund administrator, or similar environment, though this is not essential.
- Must be proactive, reliable, and able to operate effectively in a small, high-trust team.
Relevant Experience:
- 0–3 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, audit, fund administration, or investment operations.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting principles.
- Experience liaising with custodians, banks, or external service providers is advantageous.
- Familiarity with portfolio management systems or investment reporting tools is a plus.
- Evidence of strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to support regional stakeholder communication and documentation.
