We are working exclusively with a single family office / licensed family trust company located in Nevada and New Hampshire dedicated to dynamic, forward-thinking stewardship for the family’s businesses, assets and philanthropy. This new role will report to the Senior Tax Director/Manager of International Tax and work collaboratively on the international tax reporting for high-net-worth individuals and related S corporations, partnerships, trusts, and exempt entities in compliance with federal, state and local income tax law.

This position may be located in either Nevada or New Hampshire. Excellent relocation assistance is on offer.

Primary Responsibilities:     

  • Review or preparation of tax forms, elections and statement disclosures.
  • Review of estimates for accuracy and completeness.
  • Preparation of related tax projections.
  • Review of transactions and related documents to determine filing requirements.
  • Prepare tax research and stay current on changes to relevant tax law.
  • Serve as a resource for the Tax Team and other groups within the company on international tax matters.
  • Assist in project and calendar management with internal and external parties.
  • Responsible for file management in electronic data management system and communication via company portal.
  • Assist the Tax Team with other projects, as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
    • Accounting or another business major, preferred.
  • MST, preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum five years public accounting experience.
    • Three or more would be considered if Big 4 International Tax Services.
    • Big 4 or global firm experience, preferred.
  • Experience in international tax, required.
    • Working knowledge of the following Forms: 5471, 8865, 8858, 8992, 926, 8621, FBAR and 8938.
    • Able to make related filing requirement determinations, including applicable filing categories for specific forms like 5471 and 8865.
    • Understanding of CFCs, PFICs, subpart F, GILTI, 962 elections, PTEP, and FTC.

Certifications:

  • CPA, preferred.

Software:

  • Experience with CCH Axcess Tax, preferred.
  • Experience with RIA and BNA, preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, required.

Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of federal tax law.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze numerical data and build related models.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and keep projects on track.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to build relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others.

Compensation:

  • $135,000 – $155,000 fixed base salary (expectations out of this range will be considered)

Locations and hybrid working:

Candidates residing in Nevada and New Hampshire will work in the office 3 days a week and remotely 2 days a week. Candidates residing in MA (who will commute to NH) are expected to be in the office 5 days a week or work 4×10 hour days per week.
