At Agreus, we take pride in our dedicated and talented team, committed to supporting clients and candidates within the Family Office space.
Following the introduction of our US team, it’s time to spotlight our UK team.
We are delighted to introduce Alex and Reuben, two rising stars in Agreus’ UK Family Office recruitment team. With diverse paths into recruitment, they bring a unique combination of experience, curiosity, and resilience, enriching the services we deliver to clients and candidates alike.
Here’s a closer look at the people behind the LinkedIn profiles and emails.

Alex
Alex joined Agreus with a decade of recruitment experience, having initially focused on the life sciences sector. While new to the Family Office space, he was drawn to Agreus’ reputation in the industry. It didn’t take him long for him to immerse himself in the unique culture of Family Offices.
Alex’s journey began with an academic foundation in hospitality management and later in shipping and logistics, and his career has often placed him in roles as a middleman —bridging ship owners and cargo owners in shipping or, later, companies and talent in recruitment. These roles taught him the art of building long-term relationships, a vital skill in Family Office recruitment.
A typical day for Alex starts with a flat white from Pret A Manger and tuning in to a podcast. Before the 9 a.m. team meeting, he meticulously plans his day to maximise his productivity. Throughout the day, he stays in close contact with both candidates and clients, managing the recruitment process while growing his network within the Family Office space. Alex stated that one of his most memorable experiences was an early client meeting. By ‘putting faces to names’ and understanding their unique needs and how Agreus could help achieve the client’s goals, he was able to build a genuine connection with the client and foster a long-lasting relationship with them.
Alex attributes his success in Family Office recruitment to perseverance. He believes pushing through challenges is essential in an industry built on trust and long-standing relationships. To stay informed, Alex relies on regular conversations with clients and candidates, gaining firsthand insights to keep up with trends in the Family Office world.
His advice to newcomers in the Family Office space? “Leave your ego at the door,” he says, stressing the importance of humility and going beyond one’s job responsibilities to thrive in this unique environment.
Outside of work, Alex is a West Ham United season ticket holder who loves exploring London's vibrant cultural scene and spending quality time with loved ones.
Fun fact: Alex once spent a year working at Disney World in the U.S.
Reuben
Reuben began his recruitment career in the tech sales industry, focusing on fintech in business development and sales management teams. He later transitioned to recruiting for tech and hedge funds, gaining valuable exposure to the financial services sector. While his academic background in film and TV may seem unconventional, it has honed his creative problem-solving skills and his ability to think outside the box. Reuben was also new to the Family Office space, but his passion for the financial services space and eagerness to learn more have helped him seamlessly integrate into the industry.
Reuben’s day starts early—he is often up by 6 a.m., kicking off with protein porridge to fuel his fitness goals. Known for his proactive approach, he arrives at the office ahead of schedule to organise his tasks and prepare for the 9 a.m. team meeting. From there, he dedicates his time to LinkedIn and calls with clients and candidates, staying connected and ensuring his network. Over the years, Reuben has developed the resilience and patience essential for navigating the nuanced world of Family Office recruitment.
To stay informed about industry trends, Reuben actively follows thought leaders on LinkedIn, participates in Family Office community groups, and regularly reads publications like Forbes. Reuben found the 2024 Global Family Office Conference to be a standout experience, providing him with deeper insights into the unique challenges and opportunities within the family office sector.
Transitioning from tech sales to Family Office recruitment wasn’t without its challenges, given the market’s distinct nuances. For those looking to enter this field, Reuben advises finding a Family Office that aligns with one’s skills and personality. “Networking is key," he emphasises, adding that attending events and consistently demonstrating your value can make a big difference in this relationship-driven space.
Outside of work, Reuben enjoys playing basketball and pursuing his passion for filmmaking.
Fun fact: Reuben’s father owns a farming business in Senegal, and Reuben enjoys helping out whenever he visits.
